Icing on the Cake

Posted 26 Jun - 0 votes - 0 comments - 20746 views

We had a friend coming up from Christchurch for a visit, so my partner of 5 years organised a bit of a dinner the night she arrived. I had an exam for work the same day and then had the rest of the week off.
Dinner was at his Grandparents house and his Mum & partner, Aunty & partner were also there (little did I know they all knew what was coming!). We had dinner, then my partner ducked out of the room for a bit and then arrived back in the room with a big black box, he looked at me and said "I was hoping you would pass your exam today" so I got up and I was like awwwwww how sweet - opened the lid of the box and inside was a heart shaped chocolate mud cake with the words "Will You Marry Me?" and on the top right hand side was a diamond ring in a box.
I burst into tears of joy - gave him a huggggggggge hug, started shaking and said "YES!" - everyone in the room was in tears, he slipped on the ring - we all raised our glasses and there we have it :)
