October 2012 NewsletterStand up and be proud New Zealand, for we have a reason to celebrate. We brought home 6 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals and once again showed the world what we kiwis can do.

Most of us had to make do with watching the Olympics from TV at home. I watched as Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie sailed their way to gold in the women's 470 at Weymouth, Sarah Walker who got a silver medal in the Women's BMX and the dramatic shot put event where Valerie Adams won silver, later to be promoted to gold after the initial Olympic champion failed two drug tests.

Olympics fever spread across New Zealand and medal or not all our athletes did an amazing job.
